The Zinnia Silhouette Collection really happened a bit by accident, because as I was starting to paint a collection of colorful zinnia paintings, my Instagram followers kept mentioning how much they loved the initial painted sketches on the canvases before I started layering on the color!
I got to thinking about how I would paint the pieces if the sketch WAS the painting, what things I might do differently or what details I might add and that is how the Zinnia Silhouettes were born! I've loved dreaming up the various color combinations and the painting of each one has been a joy!
This print is a great mix of fun and sophistication! The bold fuchsia is striking against the neutral white background. There are also bits of turquoise underpainting peeking through in spots, making the background interesting and textured, while still being very neutral and elegant. The combination of white and bright pink give this painting warmth and style!
