This painting was Pure Delight to paint, so this name just seemed right! The vintage milk can was the foundation of the painting and I so enjoyed painting it to look antique, by utilizing a palette knife and scraping the "rusty" paint layers across the canvas.
The flowers filling the bucket are a variety of colorful florals including delphinium, snapdragons, hydrangeas, garden roses and cabbage roses....there are even a few small blue flowers inspired by Forget-me-nots.
The background is particularly delightful, as well! I started out by painting a neon background in a variety of pinks and yellows, which blended to create some orange shades, too. And then over the top, I painted some layers of neon pastels leaving some of the base brighter layer peeking through!
While this was pure delight to paint, my prayer is that it will bring much delight to the viewers and much joy to whoever decides to add this fine art print to their space!
