Antique Inspired is a new series of paintings that all feature a monochromatic color palette, each reminiscent of treasured antiques such as Ironstone Transferware, Toile, various vintage linens and such.
First introduced to Toile and Transferware in my teens, I've loved these pretty patterns for a few decades now, so it made these sweet paintings a joy to work on and bring to life. Toile patterns have been printed on everything from fabric for curtains and bedding to even clothing, down through the years. And Transferware has been printed on Ironstone dishes for decades and decades, and in a variety of colors, the most common being blue, red, brown and green.
These paintings are inspired by those beloved antique patterns, and give these modern day florals a bit of that classic vintage feel.
I hope that the viewer may be reminded of Grandma's beautiful Transferware platter or gravy boat or soup tureen that perhaps was only brought out for the holidays or other super special occasions! Or maybe they remind you of curtains that hung in your childhood home or maybe even the vintage tablecloth or china dish set that was handed down from one loved one to the next.
I hope the paintings in this Antique Inspired series are ones that will bring beauty to the spaces they're displayed in now, and perhaps will be something passed down from one generation to the next in the years to come.

Painting is signed in gold on front as well as signed and dated on the back.
